All throughout 2023, Key Media’s 30-strong Intelligence Unit researched and produced a series of Special Reports, each showcasing the top-performing legal professionals and companies across a number of important professional categories.
All of our 172 published reports over the past 12 months have already attracted 2.4 million online pageviews, as we’ve crowned 5,044 deserving winners globally.
In the process, 60,000 readers across Australia, Canada, and New Zealand have been sent our surveys. The culmination of all that extensive reporting is our annual Best in Law digital edition.
The Best in Law recognizes the legal award winners from 2023’s Special Reports and features a combined 594 individuals and companies from the sector.
This prestigious list provides a definitive annual collection of those who have delivered outstanding results, introduced new initiatives, refined existing working practices, and also acted as a source of inspiration to colleagues.

Pro Bono Ontario (PBO) is an access-to-justice charity founded in 2001. PBO’s mission is to harness the skills and commitment of volunteer lawyers to address low-income Ontarians’ unmet civil law problems to help them lead secure, healthy, and productive lives. The Society of Construction Law New Zealand Incorporated (SCL) was formed in 2005 to promote research and education in the field of construction law and a means by which people from throughout the industry could come together to discuss issues relating to construction law. Being an interest group and not a professional institute, the SCL has a range of members from all sectors of the construction industry, including lawyers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, project managers, insurers, and academics.
