Ashton Goatley is a specialist corporate and M&A lawyer with an impressive set of technical legal skills and leadership qualities that have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients.
Specialising in corporate governance, capital raising, strategic projects, joint ventures, insurance regulatory law, and the energy sector, Goatley started his career summer clerking at Russell McVeagh before practicing full-time in this area in 2013. He then joined Webb Henderson in 2017 where he quickly established himself as a core member of the team. In 2019, he was promoted to senior associate in recognition of his leadership role within the team.
Over the past 12 months, Goatley has handled major projects representing more than $10 billion in value. He is also a leader within the firm’s pro bono practice, an author of the 2019 and 2020 Chambers Global Practice Guide: Corporate Governance for New Zealand, and regularly provides corporate governance advice to the firm’s key clients.
