The firm has appointed new senior associates and associates
Baldwins has promoted two and welcomed three lawyers.
The firm has promoted Matthieu Mouscardes to senior associate and Nadia Ormiston to associate. The firm has also welcomed Sarah Harrison and Victoria Watts as senior associates, as well as Bojun Zhou as associate.

Mouscardes, who is a part of the mechanical and electrical engineering team in Auckland, is a registered patent attorney in New Zealand and Australia. He has also obtained a master’s degree in engineering, an advanced master’s degree in innovation and technology, and a patent litigation diploma. Mouscardes is well-placed to provide expert patent advice to clients internationally, having qualified as a European patent attorney and having worked in Europe for American and British companies, Baldwins said. Mouscardes drafts patent specifications, helps progress applications through to grant, advises on patentability and freedom to operate, and drafts and prosecutes commercially focussed registered design applications, the firm said. His main practice areas are mechanical engineering, software and computer systems, and medical devices.

Ormiston, who is also based in Auckland, is a barrister and solicitor specialising in trademark protection, enforcement, and management. She advises local and international clients in a wide range of industries including food and beverage, fashion, cosmetics and retail, and media and entertainment. She has completed her study towards her trans-Tasman patent attorney qualification, the firm said.
Nadia Ormiston
Harrison has been named leader of one of the firm’s Auckland-based trademark teams. She has extensive experience in clearing, registering, and, enforcing trademarks. She also advises on IP-linked commercial issues. Her practice focuses on agribusiness, biotechnology, media and creative, and health. She brought to the firm 18 years of experience advising on trademark infringement, prosecution and branding strategies, and enforcement of trademark rights in New Zealand and beyond.
Sarah Harrison
Watts joined one of the firm’s trademark teams in Auckland. She brings to the firm nearly two decades’ experience in IP law in the UK and New Zealand. She specialises in trademark and branding strategies, trademark availability and registrability, prosecution strategies, enforcement, and negotiation. Her clients range from small start-ups to multinationals in industries including cosmetics and toiletries, food and beverage, nutraceuticals, animal health, and computer software.
Victoria Watts
Zhou, who joined the firm’s Wellington patents team, moved to the firm after a decade in a top-tier Beijing IP firm. She has also worked for seven years for CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office. Zhou specialises in patents, primarily in drafting and prosecuting applications, the firm said. He is experienced in telecommunication and information systems, electronic circuits, computer software, and mechanical engineering.
