The property and construction senior associate also previously worked as part of Ashurst’s Sydney infrastructure team.
Bell Gully has appointed Ian Becke as its newest senior associate in the firm’s national property and real estate team.
Becke - an experienced infrastructure, construction and property development lawyer - will be based in our Auckland office. He joins Bell Gully from Greenwood Roche.
He has advised both public and private sector clients on a range of projects and transactions in New Zealand and Australia, including public private partnerships (PPPs).
Becke, who also previously worked as part of Ashurst’s infrastructure team in Sydney, advises clients on all stages of their projects, from conception through to development, management and ultimately, divestment.
In Australia, Becke acted for the Australian Government on the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Project and the NSW Government on the early stages of the CBD and South East Light Rail PPP. He also acted for KPMG as anchor tenant on the development and lease of new premises in Sydney and Melbourne.
In New Zealand, he has advised on a range of major projects including PPPs, commercial property developments and transactions and general commercial matters.
“We are delighted to have Ian join the team and look forward to introducing our clients to him. His addition will further strengthen our team’s offering to our property and construction clients,” said Andrew Petersen, head of property and real estate.
