Buddle Findlay welcomes new partner, special counsel

Buddle Findlay has appointed a new partner and three special counsel.

Joining the partnership is Vanessa Evitt, who is a part of the firm’s environment and resource management team in Auckland. She specialises in all aspects of management, environmental and local government law, with particular expertise in large-scale consenting project. She has been with Buddle Findlay since 2006 and has been a special counsel for three years.

The firm has also promoted Anita Birkinshaw in Auckland and Renee Stiles in Wellington to special counsel. It has also welcomed Kerry Beaumount in Wellington as a special counsel.

Birkinshaw specialises in litigation, with a wide-ranging practice that involves acting on intellectual property, regulatory compliance, contractual issues and administrative law contentious matters.

Stiles advises on, drafts, and negotiates large-scale and complex ICT and outsourcing contracts for both public- and private-sector clients. She also has extensive experience in e-commerce, data protection and privacy, intellectual property commercialisation, and general corporate and commercial law.

Beaumont, who moves to the firm from Bell Gully, is a specialist in banking and finance, with a particular focus on financial regulation, debt capital markets, fintech and the use and regulation of derivatives.
