A key part of the global tech and innovation operation of CMS is being given a boost through a new strategic partnership.
CMS by Design’s Mix strand focuses on deploying the right people, processes, tech, and resources to meet client needs; and the additional resources available via Obelisk Support’s large talent pool of more than 1,300 will enhance the offering.
“Obelisk operates a unique flexible working model, allowing us to tap into their diverse talent pool as and when we need to. Having this additional resource will significantly strengthen our ability to service our clients and deliver innovative solutions on a large variety of client needs and transactions, no matter the complexity or size,” explained CMS’ Head of Innovation and Legal Operations, John Craske, who leads the CMS by Design Mix offering.
The two firms are also working on a new program to support women returning to the legal profession.
Italian boutique provides 40th office for global law firm
Greenberg Traurig, one of the largest firms in the US, has expanded its global reach with a new combination – and two hires - in Italy.
The firm will join with boutique firm and long-term ally Santa Maria Studio Legale. Luigi Santa Maria, along with Mario Santa Maria, will become shareholders and will serve as co-managing shareholders of Greenberg Traurig's Milan office, which will be known as Greenberg Traurig Santa Maria in Italy.
Additionally, the firm has hired the former head of real estate in Italy at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, along with a finance partner from Freshfields, who will join the Milan office of Greenberg Traurig Santa Maria.
Lathams adds to Tokyo team
Latham & Watkins has hired three partners from Morrison Foerster’s Japanese operation in Tokyo.
Adding the three corporate partners - Ivan Smallwood, Noah Carr, and Stuart Beraha – means Lathams now has twice as many partners in Tokyo to serve its growing client base which includes multinationals across multiple sector groups.
