Ludovic Malgrain joins the Paris office
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has welcomed Ludovic Malgrain to the firm’s dispute resolution practice as a partner in Paris.
A litigation practitioner specialising in white-collar crime, Malgrain joins from Malgrain Avocats, a Paris boutique dedicated to white-collar crime. He previously spent 10 years as partner at White & Case, where he most recently led its white-collar crime and regulatory practice in the French capital.
He brings more than 20 years’ litigation experience, having represented high-profile French and international clients, including corporate entities and individuals, from the industrial, oil and gas, banking, and technology sectors.
“With the Paris market expanding and the demand for sophisticated litigation growing across sectors, Ludovic’s reputation in the French criminal defence and compliance areas will be a valued addition to our white-collar litigation team,” said Freshfields Paris head of litigation Stéphane Bénouville. “He brings complementary expertise in corporate litigation to our global partnership and will strengthen our profile in that area.”
Freshfields’ litigation practice in France currently advises international clients across complex commercial and civil disputes on a wide range of issues.
“Ludovic’s hiring demonstrates our ambition to continue to expand our coverage across markets and sectors, building great teams to deliver for our clients in Europe and around the world,” said Sarah Parkes, head of global dispute resolution at Freshfields.
Malgrain joins an expanding global dispute resolution practice, with the recent hire of Gayle Klein to the firm’s partnership in New York.
