Highlight: Legal service provider is immersed in NZ's legal ecosystem

For LEAP New Zealand, the main factor behind its success has been its immersion in New Zealand’s legal ecosystem.

The legal service provider endeavoured to ensure that its on-the-ground team was focused to listening to local lawyers’ day-to-day experiences – and has devoted millions to the effort.

“We invest over $20m a year in innovation, research and development. Much of this innovation is informed by listening to law firm staff, who are, after all, the day-to-day users of LEAP”, sales manager Kathryn Middis said. “This can involve working closely with consortiums, engaging with user groups, conducting complimentary client visits through our legal practice advisors, and reviewing feedback from our community”.

Middis explained that the process “creates a strong feedback loop, which ensures we focus on delivering valuable innovation to the New Zealand legal market”. David Billington, general manager of operations at LEAP New Zealand, added that the organisation “prioritised gaining market intelligence and working closely with our early adopter firms”.

“Through these channels, we’ve gathered valuable information and implemented features around AML, discretionary trusts and accounting”, Billington said.

LEAP New Zealand opened its doors in the country in September 2022. Since then, the Australian legal practice productivity solution has expanded from a team of 24 to a team of 38.

LEAP New Zealand talks more about its client-centric approach in this exclusive feature released yesterday.
