She joins with experience in senior and executive roles
Law firm Juno Legal has announced that Debra Blackett will be joining its team as a new lawyer.
Juno Legal Director Helen Mackay expressed her delight in Blackett being a part of the firm.
“Her extensive experience in senior and executive roles is a tremendous asset for our clients. Her diverse skillsets, particularly her expertise in climate change and ESG, align perfectly with our clients’ evolving needs,” said Mackay.

With more than two decades of experience in senior and executive roles throughout various industries, Blackett’s expertise spans the areas of banking and financial services, competition, corporate and commercial, climate change, governance, litigation, and regulation.
Blackett received her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree at the University of Auckland School of Law. She started her career as a barrister and solicitor at Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young before moving to DLA Phillips Fox for the same role. Later, she became the general counsel for competition, regulatory, and litigation at Telecom New Zealand.
Then, she became general counsel and company secretary at ANZ New Zealand before becoming the principal adviser on enforcement strategy at the Financial Markets Authority. Following this, she became the NZ legal counsel at BP Oil New Zealand Limited before joining Z Energy, where she stayed for more than nine years in various roles.
Before she joined the Juno Legal team, Blackett was appointed as an independent director to the Enable Networks Limited Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
In her new role in Juno Legal, Blackett will lend her support to wealth app Sharesies.
