New judges appointed to the District Court

Two judges have been appointed to the District Court.

Acting District Court Judge Alan Paul Goodwin has been appointed as a District Court judge, commencing on 18 August. He will exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, as well as exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Court.

Retiring District Court Judge Laurence John Ryan has been appointed as an acting District Court judge, with a term of two years commencing on 18 August. He will exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Court.
