The investment in Dispute Buddy is Epic Angels' first in the country
New Zealand legaltech startup Dispute Buddy has received backing from global all-female investment collective Epic Angels.
This represents Epic Angels’ first investment in New Zealand.
“Dispute Buddy solves a critical gap in the legal system and has broader potential applications in compliance and insurance. We’re excited to help them scale across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond”, Epic Angels founding partner Maaike Doyer said.
Dispute Buddy focuses on streamlining legal evidence collection for individuals and lawyers by facilitating the screen-recording of messages and emails. The recordings are then organised in chronological order and formatted for legal proceedings.
The startup was founded by CEO Jenny Rudd based on her personal family court experience.
The funds will be used to scale Dispute Buddy’s tech team, sales efforts, and expansion across Australia and New Zealand. Techstars and angel investors will participate in the funding round as well.
Epic Angels focuses on the APAC and LATAM markets, backing early stage, female-led startups. The collective provides capital, mentoring and international networking opportunities.
