Angela Scarlett, Georgia Watts and Michelle Anselmi will step into their new roles next month
Norris Ward McKinnon (NWM) has promoted two new senior associates and one new associate.
As of 1 December, Angela Scarlett and Georgia Watts will join the ranks of senior associates while Michelle Anselmi will become an associate.
Scarlett is part of the firm’s commercial corporate team. She commenced with NWM in October 2019 following an eight-year stint as a compliance lawyer with Clifford Chance in the UK.
She specialises in drafting and advising on bespoke commercial contracts, corporate structuring, contract advice, terms of trade, specialist ICT advice, IP protectional and commercialisation. In 2021, she was promoted to associate.
Watts worked in several firms in the Waikato region before commencing with NWM in July 2021. She practises with the firm’s commercial disputes and employment team, focusing on employment law.
Her clients have included large businesses/corporations, and she has tackled all kinds of disciplinary and dismissal processes. She has also provided guidance on restructuring and workplace change, personal grievance processes, and redundancy situations.
Watts has also been involved with workplace investigations in the education and local government sectors. She handled commercial and civil dispute concerns as well.
Anselmi is dual-qualified to practise as a solicitor in Scotland and New Zealand. She joined NWM in January 2022 as a senior solicitor in the private client team.
Her practice covers trust law, estate planning and administration, enduring powers of attorney, wills and trust formation. Before moving to New Zealand in 2009, she gained experience in commercial and IP matters through a stint with an Edinburgh-based firm.
