Charles Bolt is a commercially-focused public company general counsel with extensive transactional and legal advisory experience at operational and corporate executive levels in New Zealand, Australia and the US. Some of his key moments at Fletcher Building in recent times include: the establishment of a lawyers' crisis response manual in recognition of some very good learnings in recent years; managing six changes to the board of directors, ensuring an appropriate and thorough induction of the new directors to the business; implementing education programmes to deal with changes to the NZX disclosure rules; and securing the first standing exemption from the OIO for residential land purchases.
