A 75 year-old man charged over alleged threats against Victorian government employees fell asleep in court yesterday.
Paul Hill, charged with blackmail and making an explosive substance, was denied bail when he faced Geelong Magistrates Court yesterday.
Hill, who appeared to fall asleep during proceedings, had to be assisted into the court by two officials who carried him to the dock, the ABC reported yesterday. The court was told of possible mental health considerations.
He was charged on Monday after police found a number of emails he had sent to government departments. Yesterday the court heard that he had posted a photo on social media of his ‘bushfire bomb mark 3’.
Explosive experts searched the bushland near his home where he had allegedly planted fire bombs, Hill refused to help police locate any explosives.
According to the ABC, stalking Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews by email is among the four changes Hill faces.
