Allens announces 2025 gender diversity target achievement

Allens has achieved its gender diversity target ahead of schedule, with women now constituting 40.25 percent of its partners.

The firm had set this ambitious 40:40:20 target in 2022 to have at least 40 percent female partner representation by 2025.

“We are pleased to have met our 40:40:20 target ahead of schedule. It has taken sustained and deliberate focus and I want to thank everyone who continues to work to achieve gender equity and inclusion in our firm,” Allens chair Fiona Crosbie said.

Allens has been focused on gender balance for years. By 2022, women comprised over 35 percent of the firm's partners, surpassing an earlier target set in 2017.

Beyond achieving the partnership target, the firm has emphasized developing a strong pipeline of female talent moving towards partnership. As of July 1, 2024, 53 percent of Allens' managing associates are women.

Allens managing partner Richard Spurio emphasized that while this milestone is significant, it represents just one aspect of the firm's broader diversity goals: “We are committed to sustaining our 40:40:20 balance in the partnership and across all levels in the firm.”

This progress coincides with the recent promotion of five new partners and several other senior appointments in the last week of June.
