Ashurst acquires new partner in London

Ashurst will soon add an experienced projects lawyer in London.

The international firm said that Simon Moore will be joining the firm from Simmons & Simmons, where has been a partner since 2016.

Prior to Simmons & Simmons, Moore was general counsel of each the firm’s real estate & infrastructure and petroleum & major projects divisions at Mubadala. At the global investment company, he managed legal teams in the UAE and South East Asia from his base in Abu Dhabi.

Ashurst said that Moore has extensive experience advising on projects in the UK and Middle East in the infrastructure, oil and gas, and renewable energy sectors.

"Simon's appointment further demonstrates our commitment to significantly building up our capability in the global project finance market, which represents a major growth opportunity for Ashurst,” said Andy Fraiser, global head of project finance at Ashurst. “Having just appointed partner Matt Wood in Abu Dhabi, this is yet another step that will help us respond to demand and capitalise on all opportunities. Simon has fantastic experience and given his time as general counsel, a proven ability to see matters from the client's perspective. I am confident that he will play a very valuable role in the further development of our global practice.”

Moore said that the firm has exceptional projects capability and credentials in key hubs in the US, UK, Australia, Continental Europe and the Middle East.

“Joining a firm and a global team of such high calibre affords the best possible platform and opportunity to help drive forward Ashurst's market-leading practice,” he said.
