England’s longest-serving cricket captain will sport a global law firm’s logo over the coming year.
Ashurst has signed Alastair Cook CBE as its latest brand ambassador. As part of the partnership, Cook’s bat will feature
Ashurst’s logo. He will also be in events organised by the firm, including a major Q&A with Charlotte Edwards CBE, who captained the England women’s team for 10 years.
Cook is England’s highest-ever run scorer, with over 11,000 runs in his test match career, including 30 centuries. Since starting his career at just 21, he has been captain for five years and 59 tests.
He captained the series-winning team in India in 2012 and scored 766 runs in five tests in the Ashes of 2010-2011, the first time England won in Australia in two decades. He has won two ashes series as captain. Cook resigned earlier this year and was succeeded by Joe Root.
Cook, who was appointed a CBE earlier this year, beat Sachin Tendulkar’s former record as youngest batsman to score 11,000 runs.
