Asia Pacific practice leader joins Clifford Chance global team
Connie Heng, Clifford Chance’s regional practice area leader for capital markets in Asia Pacific, has joined the firm’s global leadership team.
Along with David DiBari, who leads the litigation & disputes team in the Americas, Ms. Heng will sit on the firm’s Wider Leadership Group and will be members of the Executive Leadership Group.

The firm has also announced that Chris Davies has been reappointed as global head of the firm’s tax, pensions, and employment practice for a second term.
HSF disputes chief to chair Belt & Road commission
The global head of disputes at Herbert Smith Freehills has been appointed chair of a new commission to address dispute resolution related to China’s Belt & Road Initiative.
Justin D’Agostino is also Hong Kong’s alternate member of the ICC Court.
“ICC is unique among arbitral institutions in that it has truly international coverage, with secretariats and/or national committees in over 100 jurisdictions,” he said. “Many of these lie along the Belt and Road route, giving ICC the regional expertise to resolve the disputes that will inevitably arise from a construction and infrastructure initiative of this scale.”
Joining D’Agostino at the commission is Mingchao Fan, ICC Director for North Asia, who will act as secretary.
Finance lawyer joins Clayton Utz from Ashurst
Finance and banking lawyer Graeme Tucker has joined Clayton Utz as a partner in Sydney after almost a decade with Ashurst and legacy Blake Dawson.
His practice includes asset-based lending, trade and asset finance, corporate and acquisition finance, debt restructuring and debt and portfolio trading transactions; and he has particular expertise in the Personal Property Securities Act.
Following graduation in New York, Tucker spent several years at a law firm in South Africa before joining Blake Dawson in Sydney in 2008, staying with the firm after its merger with Ashurst.
