This is a first-of-its-kind agreement in the market
Baker McKenzie has advised Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA) as it inks a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Zen Energy.
According to lead partner Aylin Cunsolo, this is “the first offtake agreement in the market for a project that intends to register under the new ‘Integrated Resource Provider’ market participant category in the National Electricity Market, which allows hybrid projects to register and participate in a single registration category (rather than under separate registrations for the one project)”.
The PPA is associated with EGPA’s Quorn Park Hybrid Project, a co-located solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) to be constructed in NSW’s Parkes Shire.

“This involved complex negotiations for a PPA contract for difference agreement and supply of green products”, Cunsolo explained.
Work on the projects started imminently, and commercial operations are set to begin in 2026. Cunsolo received support from Aimi Tran and Will Eefting.
EGPA is a joint venture between Enel Green Power SpA and INPEX Renewable Energy Australia Pty Ltd. ZEN Energy generates renewable energy solutions for both commercial properties and residential homes.
