The global firm's newest member is its second real estate lateral hire this year

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) is fast growing its real estate practice in Asia, announcing its second lateral hire to the team in the region this year.
The newly minted global firm has appointed Koh Tien Gui to its Asia real estate and hospitality and leisure practice. He is expected to join BCLP in Singapore in July. Koh comes from Rajah & Tann, where he led the hospitality practice.
Koh brings to the firm more than a decade’s worth of experience working with clients across Asia. He has extensive experience in M&A and JVs in the hotels sector. He also advises on hotel management agreements, branded residences, vacation clubs and timeshare products. He also has experience in hotel-related disputes.
The appointment comes after corporate partner Mark Stevens was hired by the firm to build the real estate private equity and M&A practice in Asia. Last year, BCLP recruited Andrew MacGeoch in Hong Kong, who now heads the firm’s real estate and infrastructure practice in Asia.
MacGeoch said that the firm is pleased to add a lawyer of Koh’s calibre in the region.
“Tien Gui’s arrival expands our wider real estate capability in Asia, and particularly influences how strong we are in the hospitality sector. This is a fast-growing sector in the region, and one where clients are facing new and ever more complicated challenges. Our strategy is to continue investing in growing sectors, where clients need our support,” MacGeoch said.
