AI platforms Legora and Harvey AI were rolled out at the firms this month
Bird & Bird has adopted the AI platform Legora, while Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has rolled out Harvey AI.
Both firms announced their AI adoptions this month.
Bird & Bird completed a six-month proof-of-concept trial period with 675 staff from almost all of its offices. The testers used the platform for document review, legal research, workflow optimisation, and cross-team collaboration.
The firm also worked together with Legora on upskilling, engagement, and adoption across the practices and sectors. The platform was particularly successful when utilised in corporate, employment and IP, the firm said.
According to Bird & Bird CEO Christian Bartsch, Legora was tested “against a series of KPIs for selected use cases”.
“Examples of use cases for Legora include increased turnaround time on certain legal tasks and leveraging Legora to implement a client’s playbook across multiple matters”, Bartsch said.
Meanwhile, G+T has incorporated Harvey AI into its workflows, with 650 lawyers set to use the tool in document review, drafting and summarisation.
The pilot period involved more than 200 lawyers from all of the firm’s practice groups.
“We are excited about the introduction of Harvey as one of our AI tools, which will enhance our workflows and the delivery of our legal services. As we embrace AI, we continue to prioritise responsible use, ensuring alignment with our professional obligations while investing in the necessary training to empower our people”, G+T chief knowledge and innovation officer Caryn Sandler said.
