One firm names its inaugural CEO, while another appoints a partner and an associate
Two Brisbane-based firms have made senior appointments.
BTLawyers has recruited seasoned senior executive Andrew Nielsen to become the firm’s first-ever chief executive. Creevey RussellLawyers has appointed Tom Rynders as partner and Adelaide Davies as associate.

Bruce Thomas, BTLawyers director, said that the firm recently identified a gap in its management team.
They also recognised the need for a chief executive to join the firm to free up the firm’s directors – Thomas and Kerrie Jackson – to focus on the legal team and on client work.
“Andrew joins us at an exciting time of growth for BTLawyers, as we develop our new practice areas in business disputes and litigation, family and personal law,” Thomas said.
Jackson said that Nielsen will help drive the firm’s operational efficiency and strategic direction.
“Over the years, we’ve cultivated a progressive culture and Andrew aligns perfectly to our values. He has a proven track record in managing dynamic teams and in driving growth, and will be a valued addition to the team,” she said. “We want to build on our momentum and with Andrew on board, we are confident we can move forward to capitalise on opportunities more effectively for both us and for our clients.”
Nielsen said that BTLawyers is a progressive law firm with an outstanding reputation in the Queensland market.

Nielsen was most recently director of strategy and projects at Broadstone Group, a US-based consulting firm for major events such as the Olympic Games. He was also director – M&A, operations, and strategy at Deloitte in Australia; head of the project delivery office of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the UK; and a management consultant at the London Consulting Group in Mexico.

Dan Creevey, Creevey RussellLawyers principal, said that the appointments of Rynders and Davies are exciting for the firm.
“They have both spent most of their legal careers at Creevey RussellLawyers and it has been delightful to watch their progression as lawyers. We look forward to their continued contribution to the firm,” he said.
Rynders, who was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2009, is accredited by the Queensland Law Society as a personal injury specialist lawyer.
The new partner is a member of the firm’s commercial team and advises clients in a wide variety of matters, including compensation law, wills and estates, and commercial and general litigation. He joined the firm in 2008 and is promoted from senior associate.
Davies joined the firm in 2013 as a paralegal. She acts for clients in Queensland and New South Wales on civil disputes matters, including debt collection, contract disputes, and estate litigation.
