Digital Asset Capital Management (DACM) has welcomed as its new GC Roger Dinnie, former UBS Asset Management head of funds legal Asia-Pacific and GC, Australia.

Dinnie commences at the global institutional investor on Thursday. The seasoned financial services and commercial lawyer will be operating from Sydney, bringing to the table considerable experience in corporate advisory, governance and funds management from stints not just in Australia but across the APAC region.

“Roger, and the extensive top-tier financial services experience he brings to DACM, is the ideal person to join our senior management team as GC. We have continued to be very active in the crypto venture capital space during 2022 and will be raising another venture fund in 2023”, DACM co-founder and CEO Richard Galvin.

At UBS Asset Management, Dinnie conducted legal oversight of the company’s Australian business and managing its onshore and offshore funds platforms in the APAC region. He has also taken on senior in-house positions in the financial services, media and telecommunications, and resources sectors, notably working on the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

“The increasing level of legal and regulatory work across many jurisdictions where we invest and where our clients reside has meant it’s the right time to strengthen our in-house legal and compliance capabilities. A GC of Roger’s calibre will be invaluable to our business”, Galvin said.

Dinnie said that he was eager to work with DACM to realise its potential in “a complex and rapidly evolving market”.
