May Lin Chew also brings significant global experience from her stint with Shell
Former Western Power GC and executive manager May Lin Chew is the new CLO for global professional services company GHD.
Chew commences with GHD’s enterprise leadership team on 19 August.
“I am delighted to join GHD as the chief legal officer and work with the talented team of lawyers across the globe. I am equally excited to bring a strategic legal voice to the enterprise leadership team and have the opportunity to shape discussions there”, she said.
Chew joins the company with significant global experience under her belt; she logged a 17-year stint at Shell as international corporate lawyer that saw her work across Singapore, the UK and the Netherlands. She has also spent time in Malaysia and Japan.
She is an expert in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and stakeholder engagement. She has been at the helm of large, cross-functional global legal teams working on large-scale infrastructure projects, M&A, joint ventures and complex transactions, GHD said.
Chew has been admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the WA Supreme Court.
“May Lin strongly believes that shaping the discussion and influencing the debate around corporate culture and strategic issues are the keys to a successful business. As we look to the future, we are excited to have her global experience, voice and perspective on the enterprise leadership team,” GHD CEO Jim Giannopoulos said.
Chew will operate from Perth.
