Clyde & Co has promoted five to partner in Australia in its latest promotions round.
The new partners are Leah Hewish, Hannes Marais, Jennifer Robbins, Ross Donaldson and Anthony Cooke. They step into their new roles on 1 July.
“The most recent round of partner promotions is strategically important as it reflects the firm’s commitment to grow the mid-market and SME offering in Australia in addition to our market-leading major and complex loss practice”, said Gareth Horne, chair of the Australian insurance practice. “This reflects growing demand in this space as our clients adjust their own capacity in an increasingly complex and competitive insurance market”.
Hewish has been with the firm since it debuted in the Australian market in 2012. She is part of the first party property and energy insurance practice, focusing on homeowner, SME, and industrial special risks in addition to fraud claims.
Brisbane-based Marais brings considerable experience in professional indemnity litigation, especially in the construction sector. He has acted for engineers and certifiers.
Robbins also works from the Brisbane office. She specialises in financial lines insurance, concentrating on claims against financial institutions, directors’ and officers’ liability, professional indemnity, and cyber-related issues.
Donaldson is part of the Melbourne office. He has significant experience with casualty, professional indemnity and construction insurance disputes.
Cooke has provided guidance on cybersecurity, data protection and privacy concerns. He is admitted to practice in Australia and New Zealand. ‘
In addition to the five partners, Clyde & Co also elevated 15 to senior associate. In its last promotions cycle, the firm added three to the partnership and five to the special counsel ranks.
