The matter required a unique mix of projects, infrastructure and real estate expertise
Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) advised Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in the new long-term Sydney Harbour Bridge contract.
Hammons Holdings, an Australian family-owned company, was awarded a 20-year concession to operate guided climbs on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It will commence operation on the iconic bridge on 1 October.
The matter, which included preparing the tender documents and the new concession agreement and managing negotiations with local and international bidder, was complex, said G+T partner Steven Mackay.
“It required a unique mix of projects, infrastructure and real estate expertise together with government procurement experience. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a truly iconic and complex asset, being Australia’s most renowned landmark which attracts millions of international visitors and locals alike,” he said.
Mackay and fellow partner Lesly Sutton led the G+T team. They were assisted by lawyers Isabelle Wong and Melissa Goode.
