Jones Day hires high-profile lawyer for Sydney M&A practice
Shannon Finch has joined Jones Day in Sydney as a partner in the M&A practice.
Ms. Finch was a former partner at King & Wood Mallesons, spending almost 25 years with the firm including five years as partner-in-charge of the Sydney office.
She has extensive experience in capital markets transactions, public mergers, acquisitions and restructures; corporate governance; and listed entities and securities law.
Ms. Finch is also a guest lecturer on securities law and disclosure regulation masters courses at the University of Sydney and University of NSW; and is chairman of the Corporations Committee at the Law Council of Australia.

A team of litigation and arbitration lawyers has joined Herbert Smith Freehills in Madrid.
Partner David Arias and his team join the global firm from the arbitration boutique firm he founded after 16 years as a partner at Pérez-Llorca, where he established its dispute resolution practice.

Global firm announces largest ever promotions round
CMS has promoted 49 lawyers to partner in its largest ever promotions round. Women make up 47% of the new partners globally this year and 76% of UK promotions.
The new partners span 23 cities across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, and sit across a wide range of practice and sector groups.
