King & Wood Mallesons has assisted Australian oil and gas producer Oil Search purchase a 23% stake in the Elk/Antelope gas fields in Papua New Guinea.
The
KWM team, led by partner Adrian Perkins, advised in the US$900 million purchase from the Singapore-based Pacific LNG.
KWM was also supported by its affiliate firm in PNG Posman Kua Aisi.
The acquisition will give Oil Search access to the largest undeveloped gas resource in PNG and the potential to begin commercially attractive expansion and development.
