A lawyer will join a team of record breaking North Pole trekkers in the challenge of a lifetime.
Next week, Eversheds solicitor Andrew Walker will join a team of 10 businessmen and rugby players in their attempt to set a Guinness world record and raise £300,000 by trekking to the North Pole and attempting to play a game of ruby for the children’s charity Wooden Spoon.
The real estate law specialist has reportedly already raised over £21,000 for Wooden Spoon, a charity which aims to support disadvantaged children.
Expected to take around three weeks, and with temperatures predicted to drop to around minus 40 degrees Celsius, the teams will be joined by rugby players Tim Stimpson and Ollie Phillips. Former British Lions player, Lee Mears will join the crew as match referee.
Organisers of the challenge said that the trekkers will be in real danger of polar bears and are likely to encounter bitter winds and possible problems of open water.
