Norton Rose Fulbright has advised NRMA on its acquisition of specialist tourist park managers ATPM Group.

The major acquisition adds a portfolio of owned and managed tourist facilities to NRMA’s existing assets which include Travelodge Hotels and Thrifty Car Rental.

NRF’s team in Sydney was led by partner Ben Smits, assisted by a team including Vianna Shing (corporate) and partners Nuncio D’Angelo (banking and finance), Peter Trevaskis (real estate), Sally Woodward (employment and labour), Jacques Jacobs (insurance) and Felicity Rourke (environment and planning).

Lawyers from Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong provided the Allen& Overy team advising on a ground-breaking IPO in Vietnam.

The low-cost airline VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in a U$170 million IPO which was a landmark as it represents the first HOSE listing documented to international disclosure standards and primarily marketed to international institutional investors.

Freshfields, Morgan Lewis hire Ashurst partners
Freshfields has hired a team of five partners from Ashurst in Paris, significantly enhancing the firm’s corporate and finance teams in the market. The prominent hires include corporate trio Guy Benda, Nicolas Barberis and Yann Gozal; and finance lawyers Laurent Mabilat and Stéphanie Corbière.

Meanwhile in Singapore, Morgan Lewis has hired former Ashurst lawyer Edward Bennett as an asset management, corporate, and mergers and acquisition partner. Bennett relocated to Singapore in 2011 from London.

International firm boosts media team with BBC barrister
RPC has hired BBC senior barrister Nicola Cain for its media practice in London.

She was head of legal, freedom of information and contentious data protection at the national broadcaster and provided advice for shows including the international hit Top Gear.

Cain holds the International Association of Privacy Professionals CIPP/E certification and has particular expertise in media and law enforcement.
