Major IPO foreshadows ASX trend, top lawyer says

The IPO of Life360, the largest IPO so far on the ASX this year, is a sign of things to come for listing in the exchange.

That’s according to Tony Sparks, who jointly headed the Allen & Overy team with partner Mark Leemen, as they advised Credit Suisse and Bell Potter on the Life360 IPO. The financial institutions were joint lead managers on the $820m IPO, which was conducted after a successful private placement to stockholders in the US late last year.

“This offer will continue a trend of overseas technology companies seeking to list on the ASX as an alternative, or precursor, to listing on NASDAQ or other established exchanges,” Sparks said.

Life360 is the largest US-headquartered tech company to list on the ASX. The Allen & Overy team that advised the company also included associate Kieran Berry, graduate Isobel Smith, and counsel Cecile Baume. \

DLA Piper earlier confirmed its role advising Life360 on the IPO. The company’s US counsel was Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
