Melbourne firms merge to boost commercial law expertise

Melbourne firms Robert James Lawyers and Lawcrest have merged under the Robert James Lawyers banner.

The combination takes effect on 1 August.

“By bringing together two specialist commercial law firms, we are able to offer our clients an even greater depth and breadth of legal expertise. This is an incredibly exciting chapter for the firm. The addition of Lawcrest’s impressive team of lawyers will set us up for continued growth and innovation for many years to come”, Robert James Lawyers founding partner Robert Alderuccio said.

Lawcrest co-founder and partner Sami Sara added that the merger represented an opportunity to accelerate the firm’s growth.

“We launched Lawcrest with a strong drive to build a modern commercial law firm that prioritises client outcomes and practical legal advice. Five years into that journey, we can confidently say we have achieved those goals. The opportunity to fast-track our growth by merging with the well-established and highly respected team at Robert James Lawyers is testament to the strength of those values and the quality team we have built. My team and I are excited by what this next stage will bring and the huge potential of what we can deliver as an expanded firm”, Sara said.

Robert James Lawyers was launched in 1993 as a commercial law boutique by Alderuccio and George Konstas. Lawcrest was established in 2019 by Sara and Richard Pedley.
