New partner to head up Mellor Olsson's wills and estates practice

Mellor Olsson’s wills and estates team is set to be headed up by newly appointed partner Nikki Owen.

Owen has extensive international and local experience in estate and succession planning. Her expertise will support Mellor Olsson’s continued commitment to providing quality services to clients across South Australia.

She comes in with extensive experience gleaned from stints not just in Australia but in the UK as well. She managed a wills, estates, and asset protection team as a solicitor based in Bath for more than a decade; in 2016, she helmed an Adelaide firm’s wills and estates team following her relocation to Australia.

Owen concentrates on succession planning and asset protection in relation to individuals, business owners, and families. She has helped to draft wills, powers of attorney, and advance care directives for the purposes of health and care decisions.

Moreover, she has handled probate and estate administration, particularly in relation to the complexities of blended family situations and estates that encompass sole, joint, company, trust, and superannuation assets. She has advised not-for-profits, charities, and donors on matters related to bequests and charitable trusts.
