Dowson Turco Lawyers (DTL) senior partner Nicholas Stewart has nabbed a seat on the first-ever NSW Premier’s LGBTQ+ Advisory Council.

For the next two years, Stewart will draw on his legal and advocacy background to provide guidance on issues concerning LGBTQ+ rights, inclusion, and equality in NSW.

“This appointment is a tremendous honour for Dowson Turco Lawyers and my colleague Nicholas Stewart; I look forward to seeing the Advisory Council continue the advancement of equality, inclusion, and justice for all LGBTQ+ people in New South Wales”, DTL managing partner Stacey Dowson said.

Stewart has taken the lead on high-profile cases involving discrimination, hate crimes, and human rights violations. According to DTL, his appointment to the council “marks a significant step in strengthening the state’s commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ rights and ensuring that the voices of the community are heard at the highest levels of government”.
