Pinsent Masons deepens ECM and M&A expertise in APAC

Pinsent Masons has deepened its equity capital markets and transactional M&A expertise in the Asia-Pacific region with the addition of a new partner in Hong Kong.

Rosita Chu joined the firm’s corporate team on 19 November. She moved from Luk & Partners, which is American giant Morgan, Lewis & Bockius’ associated firm in Hong Kong. Chu was one of the 13 senior lawyers Morgan Lewis hired from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai last year.

Pinsent Masons said that Chu bolsters its Hong Kong presence and will work on matters handled by the firm’s Hong Kong, mainland China, and wider Asia-Pacific practice.

“Rosita brings a wealth of knowledge of running transactions and relationships. She has invaluable experience of working with companies across Pinsent Masons' core global areas including TMT, financial services, manufacturing, and renewable energy, so is a natural fit for the firm. She understands the issues global clients encounter in Greater China as well as the challenges Chinese clients face abroad,” said Kenneth Chong, a partner at Pinsent Masons in Hong Kong.

Chu’s expertise includes securities regulations, ongoing regulatory compliance, corporate restructuring, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, multi-jurisdiction M&A, disposals, and reorganisations. She has extensive experience advising Chinese and local Hong Kong investment banks and corporates.
