Piper Alderman has boosted its taxation offering with the addition of Megan Bishop as its latest partner.

Bishop joins the corporate team in Melbourne. She has spent over 14 years of experience working on State and Federal tax dispute resolution and has helped clients to manage tax issues across various jurisdictions.

She has tackled matters involving revenue and tax regulatory authorities and advised on transactional phase risk mitigation strategy. She has appeared before all Victorian and Federal tax tribunals and courts.

A certified mediator, Bishop also holds a degree in chemical engineering. She commences with Piper Alderman alongisde associate Christian Febbraro.

“I am delighted to bring our taxation team to complement Piper Alderman’s existing dispute resolution and litigation practice and to have the opportunity to continue to provide our taxation services to our clients. Tax should never be considered in isolation of broader commercial and regulatory objectives”, Bishop said.

Both Bishop and Febbraro are specialists in research and development taxes, employment taxes, trust tax issues, corporate and individual mobility-related tax matters, transfer pricing, anti-avoidance considerations, State taxes, and tax debt management. They also help registered tax agents to navigate their regulatory obligations.

Febbraro worked at the Australian Taxation Office and the Tax Practitioners Board in the past. He is qualified as both a lawyer and a chartered accountant.
