Simmons & Simmons welcomes back dispute resolution pro in HK

Simmons & Simmons has welcomed back Eric Chan as a consultant in Hong Kong.

Chan completed his training contract and was an associate at the firm for six years. He moved from Addleshaw Goddard, where he was a legal director. He was also previously a senior associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and an associate at Baker McKenzie.

The new consultant brings more than a decade of experience in dispute resolution to Simmons & Simmons. He has a focus on complex, high-value and high-profile disputes in Asia. He is also experienced in major regulatory investigations.

Chan, who bolsters Simmons & Simmons’ international arbitration practice in Asia, joins arbitration partners Amanda Lees in Singapore and Joseph Chu in Hong Kong and Beijing. He is highly experienced arbitration practitioner, said Stuart Dutson, who heads the firm’s international arbitration team.

“This hire shows Simmons & Simmons’ commitment to strengthening our arbitration practice in Asia,” Dutson said.

Chan said that he looks forward to leveraging the firm’s strong platform and presence in Hong Kong and Asia to grow the arbitration practice in the region.
