Sparke Helmore hires workplace expert in Brisbane

Sparke Helmore has added Jackson Inglis to its workplace team. Inglis will be based in Brisbane.

The new partner, a Queensland Law Society-accredited workplace-relations law expert, brings to the firm 15 years’ experience in employment, industrial relations, and workplace safety.

Phillip Salem, Sparke Helmore national managing partner, said that the firm has a “relentless focus” on providing value to its workplace clients, which is why it is thrilled to welcome a high-calibre hire to the team.

“Jackson also bolsters the number of partners in our Brisbane office to seven, joining recent new partners Mark Sainsbury and Kiley Hodges. Queensland is an important market for us, and we continue to invest to ensure the best outcome for our local clients,” Salem said.

Inglis was most recently the corporate counsel and company secretary of Max Solutions, the Australian arm of Maximus, a global health and human service provider. He was also previously with Ashurst and Herbert Smith Freehills.

He is experienced in negotiating complex national industrial agreements. He also handles enterprise bargaining with unions and other bargaining representatives, as well as complex employment litigation before the Federal Circuit Court, Federal Court, and Fair Work Commission.
