Cravath Swaine & Moore has just named the three newest members of their notoriously exclusive partnership and all of them are women.
The storied white-shoe firm has announced that Margaret D’Amico, Rory A. Leraris and Kara L. Mungovan will become members of the firm effective 1 January 2017.
The promotion of the three women from Cravath’s associate ranks follows the election of M&A powerhouse Faiza Saeed as the next presiding partner of the firm. She will helm Cravath starting January as well.
D’Amico, who finished both her A.B. and J.D. at Harvard, is a member of Cravath’s Litigation Department, where she focuses on antitrust matters. She joined the firm in 2008.
Leraris, who finished her J.D. from University of Chicago Law School and her B.A. from Amherst College, is a member of Cravath’s Litigation Department, where she focuses on general commercial litigation. She also joined Cravath in 2008.
Mungovan, who also has an A.B. and a J.D. from Harvard, is a member of Cravath’s Tax Department, where she has a general tax practice.
Cravath, one of the most well-regarded law firms in the world, lists only 87 partners on its site among 581 lawyers. The firm’s most recent revenue and profit per equity partner was $666.5 million and $3.55 million, respectively, according to
The American Lawyer.
