MinterEllison has been named the Official Lawyers of Invictus Games Sydney 2018, which will be held next year from 20-27 October.
As part of a broader partnership between the international firm and Invictus Games, MinterEllison will provide a wide range of legal and rights-protection services. The firm also became the official supporter of the Australian teams that will compete at the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 and in the event next year.
Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, is an international sporting event for wounded, injured, and ill service personnel and veterans. The inaugural Invictus Games in London in September 2014 attracted more than 400 competitors from 13 nations.
Tony Harrington AM, MinterEllison chief executive, said the firm is proud and honoured to have been chosen to join the Invictus Games family and that the partnership is something “every person in our firm will take enormous pride in and be inspired by.”
The firm’s team will be led by sports and entertainment law partner Paula Robinson and the project will be managed by senior associate Jessica Norris. Robinson also leads the firm’s partnership with Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
