HopgoodGanim has welcomed a new senior associate to its Brisbane team.
Anushka De Alwis has joined the firm’s tax team from Flight Centre, where she was a global tax specialist.
Before serving at Flight Centre, she was a taxation principal at BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance. She started her career as a senior consultant at PwC.
In addition to being a solicitor, De Alwis is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
She has extensive experience on corporate tax, fringe benefit tax, goods and services tax, tax due diligence for acquisitions, and tax clause drafting for contracts. She is an expert in liaising with the Australian Taxation Office and state revenue offices and also advises clients on enquiries made by overseas tax authorities.
