This is the first year that the organisation has recognized a law firm for their efforts in the areas of diversity and inclusion.
K&L Gates has been recognised for its excellence in inclusion and diversity.
The recognition came from one of their long-time clients, Lockheed Martin, during the aerospace and defence giant’s annual legal conference.
This is the first year that Lockheed Martin has recognized a law firm for excellence in the areas of diversity and inclusion.
Lockheed Martin assessed the strength and diversity of its outside legal teams, including, for example, the percentage of minority and female timekeepers working on matters, K&L Gates said.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Lockheed Martin for our excellence in this important area,” said Pallavi Mehta Wahi, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Seattle office, said.

K&L Gates’ newest recognition follows being included on the Yale Law Women’s Top 10 Family Friendly Firms of 2016 list. The 2015 Chambers Women in Law Awards, USA also named the firm the Outstanding Firm for Furthering Women’s Advancement (Recruitment, Retention and Promotion).
The global law firm has also been recognised as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign, having earned a top rating of 100 percent in their Corporate Equality Index survey for the past six consecutive years. It also has a Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.
K&L Gates, which has had revenues exceeding $1b for the last six years, has more than 2,000 lawyers in 46 offices on five continents.
