In addition to naming half a dozen new partners in Australia, the firm has promoted another partner who’s relocating from Brisbane to open the firm’s newest office in Kuala Lumpur
Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted 21 lawyers to its global partnership, including six in Australia.
Joining the partnership on 1 May in Australia are:

· Miles Wadley, Finance, Melbourne
Out of the six new partners in Australia, three are project and finance experts. HSF just promoted five other infrastructure experts in Australia to the partnership in December. The firm said that the promotions are consistent with the practice’s growth in the sector.
Brisbane’s Glynn Cooper has also been promoted to the partnership and will relocate to open the firm’s office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new office is expected to open sometime next month.
The firm also made its first partner promotion from its alternative legal services group with Libby Jackson, global head of the group, joining the global partnership of the firm.
The firm’s promotions span eight offices, including nine new partners from the Asia Pacific. The firm’s other new partners are:
