Hamilton Locke has announced that former Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner Gaynor Tracey will be leading its corporate team in Sydney.

Tracey has worked on M&A transactions in London and Australia for 25 years. She has acted for public and large private companies, funds, banks and shareholders in Australia and across the globe. She has worked on foreign investment, regulated and private treaty M&A transactions –both buy and sell-side and domestic and inbound equity investments.

Joining Tracey as a partner on the Sydney corporate team is Madeleine Kulakauskas. Kulakauskas also transitions from Corrs, where she was a special counsel.

She is knowledgeable on foreign investment legislation and has provided guidance to private equity funds and state-owned enterprises in relation to securing foreign investment approvals. She also specialises in warranty and indemnity insurance, having spent more than 15 years assisting major insurers and policyholders.

“With an anticipated uptick in M&A and general corporate activity over the next 12 months, Gaynor and Madeleine are well placed to support our national clients on both strategic and business-as-usual corporate transactions”, Hamilton Locke managing partner Nick Humphrey said.

Meanwhile, Luke McShane strengthens the finance team in Perth as its newest partner. He makes the jump from Gilbert + Tobin, where he was a special counsel.

He has helped borrowers with regard to the project financing of mining, resources and infrastructure projects within Australia and worldwide. He has also assisted with the negotiation and documentation of offtake agreements.
