Andrew Leadston jumps from Corrs to HSF

Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has announced the return of Andrew (Andy) Leadston to the firm as a partner in its real estate practice in Sydney.

Leadston left Corrs Chambers Westgarth to join HSF. He brings eight years of partnership experience in the real estate sector.

Luke Simpson, HSF’s real estate managing partner, said that Leadston’s addition is part of the firm’s efforts to strengthen its real estate and private capital practice.

“Our ongoing investment in our partnership ensures we are well-positioned to support the growing demand in Australia for private capital funds and emerging asset classes,” Simpson said. “This includes continued expansion in the living sector — such as social and affordable housing, build-to-rent, residential, student accommodation, and retirement living — as well as alternate asset classes like data centres, life sciences and healthcare.”

Leadston has handled real estate transactions such as property developments, private capital transactions, leases, joint ventures, and asset management. He has assisted both domestic and international clients with real estate and infrastructure projects.

He obtained a NSW legal practising certificate and was admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Victoria. He graduated from Monash University with his bachelor’s and law degrees in 2001.
