The former Adelaide Airport head of legal rejoins DMAW Lawyers as a principal
Former Adelaide Airport head of legal Matthew Fisher has rejoined DMAW Lawyers as a principal in the firm’s transactions team.
He initially started with the firm as an associate in 2013, rising to senior associate before he departed in 2017. He spent eight years as in-house counsel for companies like Cobham Aviation and Adbri, in addition to his tenure at Adelaide Airport.
Fisher concentrates on business transactions, M&A, property development, infrastructure and major projects, and corporate advisory. His legal career spans more than 15 years.
“I’m thrilled to be back at DMAW Lawyers and to be working with a team that is known for delivering high-quality counsel to a broad range of clients and sectors – it feels a lot like home,” he said. “Having spent the past eight years client-side, I’ve gained a unique perspective into corporate clients’ true requirements from their external legal partner. My point of difference as a legal advisor now is a greater appreciation for how we can best add value and deliver pragmatic advice to in-house legal practitioners and their executive teams.”
DMAW Lawyers CEO Bernice Witkowski highlighted Fisher’s in-house experience as a particular asset to the firm’s clients.
“Matthew has enjoyed a successful career across his private practice and corporate roles, working with and advising top companies in South Australia and nationally,” Witkowski said. “He brings with him a unique skillset gained during his recent in-house roles which will offer a wealth of insights and even greater value to our clients. Coupling this with his private practice experience, he’s a great addition to complement our team.”
