Two elevated to partner at Hamilton Locke

Hamilton Locke has elevated Melissa Doran and Timothy Zahara to partners in its latest promotions cycle.

Doran and Zahara’s promotions strengthen the top end of the firm’s workplace and employment team.

Doran joined Hamilton Locke just last year as a special counsel, coming in with a Clyde & Co team led by Michael Tooma. She focuses on workplace health and safety (WHS) law, with more than 13 years of experience handling advisory and litigious issues.

She has worked with businesses on the establishment of safe work systems, management of WHS incident responses, and defence against WHS prosecutions for individuals and companies.

Zahara recorded a stint as a senior lawyer at the Fair Work Ombudsman before returning to Hamilton Locke as a special counsel in 2022. He has provided guidance to the boards of ASX 100 companies as well as family businesses.

He has worked on whistleblowing claims, senior executive employment disputes, and post-employment restraints. He has also tackled transfer of employment obligations in public and private corporate transactions.
