Clayton Utz is set to bring restructuring and insolvency expert Katie Higgins into its partnership in January.

Higgins played a key role in launching Jones Day's Australian restructuring and insolvency practice. Her practice focuses on debt restructuring, workouts, and insolvency; she has also handled complex cross-border mandates.

She has advised financial institutions, multinational companies, funds, directors, insolvency practitioners, and investors on restructuring, special situations, insolvency, and finance matters. She has tackled issues in the projects and infrastructure, energy and resources, property, and retail sectors in her 20+ year career.

Moreover, Higgins seconded with two major Australian banks.

“Earlier this year we welcomed Maria O’Brien, a leader in the Asia-Pacific restructuring and insolvency space, to the firm’s partnership. To have Katie now join our team puts Clayton Utz in an even stronger position, with an unrivalled depth of expertise to continue to support our local and international clients”, said Nicholas Poole, partner and head of Clayton Utz’s restructuring and insolvency practice.
