DLA Piper helps Macquarie Technology Group with $450m secured debt refinancing

DLA Piper has confirmed that it advised Macquarie Technology Group Limited on all aspects of its $450m secured debt refinancing with a group of domestic and international lending institutions.

The global law firm shared in its news release that it assisted the Sydney-based company with the preparation and negotiation of the syndicated facility agreement and security documents, among other aspects of the transaction.

Alex Regan, finance partner, led the DLA Piper deal team. Support came from Caroline Rowe, finance special counsel, and Sophia Davies, finance solicitor.

“Our team were proud to work with Macquarie Technology Group and its financial adviser, RBC Capital Markets, on another milestone financing transaction in the data centre sector in Australia,” Regan said in the firm’s news release.

Macquarie Technology Group is a data centre, cloud, cyber security, and telecommunications company for mid-sized to large business and government customers, according to the company’s LinkedIn page.

The new debt facility seeks to support and to fund the continued expansion of the company’s data centre business, including the construction of its IC3 Super West Phase 1 data centre, DLA Piper’s news release explained.

The firm shared that it also advised Macquarie Technology Group on its $174m land acquisition of Macquarie Park Data Centre last July.
