Hall & Wilcox has advised Onboarded Pty Ltd, Australia-based technology provider of recruitment onboarding software, on its sale to The Access Group, U.K.-based provider of business management software to mid-market organisations in the U.K., Ireland, U.S., and Asia–Pacific.

As a part of this transaction, The Access Group will also acquire smartAI Pty Ltd, Onboarded’s sister company and a personalised conversation platform for recruiters. The cross-practice team of Hall & Wilcox assisted with the transaction’s M&A, intellectual property, and employment law aspects.

Nicole Tumiati, partner and retail and consumer goods lead at the firm, led the Hall & Wilcox deal team. Support came from Ben Hamilton, partner and technology and digital economy co-lead at the firm; Piers Mitchem, special counsel; and Daniel Shizas, associate.

“We are absolutely delighted to have worked with the shareholders in Onboarded and smartAI on this great transaction,” Tumiati said in the firm’s media release.

Raj Soni, Onboarded and smartAI founder, called working with the firm’s deal team “amazing” in the media release.

“As a tech founder, I found myself in the midst of an M&A process that was completely foreign to me,” Soni said in the firm’s media release. “Having Nicole and the team to lean on and be guided through the process was priceless.”

Hall & Wilcox is an independent Australian law firm. It has over 145 partners that work across eight offices. The firm’s lawyers have assisted corporate, public sector, and private clients based in Australia and beyond.
